Where is Jesus?
On that day, when evening had come, He told them, "Let's cross over to the other side of the sea." So they left the crowd and took Him along since He was already in the boat, and other boats were with Him.
A fierce windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. But He was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Him up saying to Him, "Teacher! Don't You care we are going to die?"
He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Silence! Be still!" The wind creased and there was a great calm. Then He said to them, "Why are you fearful? Do you still have no faith?"
And they were terrified and asked one another, "Who is this? Even the wind and sea obey Him!"
Mark 4:35-41
What is your storm? Is your family in tatters because of divorce? Are your children far from the Lord? Is you son planning to marry his boyfriend? Is your daughter on drugs and you watch the life ebbing from her?
Christian, Jesus is in your boat. Seeking Him and trust Him for the outcome. Stand up and rebuke the devourer and watch things change, keep your confession sweet, don't go back to fear and faithlessness.
Do you feel alone in your boat because Jesus is at rest? Why is He at rest? Perhaps it is finished, perhaps He knows the answer is on the way.
In a storm we must see Jesus, keep our eyes on Him and keep going. Amen!
