Why Have I Come?

They found Him and said, "Everyone is looking for you!"
He said to them, "Let's go on to the neighbouring villages so that I may preach there too. This is why I have come. So He went into all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. Mark 1:37-39

Jesus had preached the previous day in the synagogue in Capernum, Peter and Andrew's home town. A multitude of people came to Him at their house and He healed many  and drove out demons. These people wanted Him back but He knew His message must go to all of Galilee and so went on, rather than going back.

The people would contain Him and keep Him for theirselves, for basically we are selfish and when we see someone or something that will minister to our needs we hang on to them. Fortunately today we can download podcasts and watch on-line.

But Jesus knew He must preach. He said, "This is why I have come."

Why am I here? Is it just to make a comfortable life for myself or to share the good news I received when I was 19. Is the news still good? Yes! It as fresh and alive now as it was then. My God is better now because I know Him more. I, then, have more to share.

The amount of demons He drives out, especially from church, is amazing. A good thought! Want to find demons, go to church. Ha! Ha! At least when they are set free they will have a testimony.
