All is Not as it Seems
When it was already evening, because it was preparation day ( that is, the day before the Sabbath), Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Sanhedrin who was himself looking forward to the Kingdom of God, came and boldly went in to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body, Pilate was surprised that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him whether He had already died. When he found out from the centurion he had already died, he gave the corpse to Jospeh. Mark 15:42-45
Jospeh was not intimidated by the unbelieving members of the Sanhedrin, he went in boldly and asked for Jesus' body. It is interesting that Jesus was now referred to as a corpse. Isn't it amazing how many can write off as dead, something that is in dormant mode. Jesus body was lifeless but his spirit was active and setting free claptives held from the dawn of time.
Can you see Him going up to Adam and the joy of them meeting again? Adam had fellowship with God in the garden. No one else had had it quite like that. Enoch walked with God, but Adam knew Him in a way no one else did. How he would have regretted his mistake and how he would have rejoiced at the message of salvation. All the saints who patiently waited would be rejoicing, what a party, What a joy to take them all home with Him!
Joseph honoured Jesus by buying fresh linen and placing His body in a fresh new tomb. Imagine later in life being buried there himself. Wow! I wonder if there was a stairway to heaven in that tomb?
All is not as it seems! We are not dead in sin for eternity if we turn to Him, we are forgiven and welcomed in. A new life awaits us! Open the door and let him in! Amen!
