Darkest Before Breakthrough

When it was noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. And at three Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, Lema sabachthani?" Which is translated, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"
Then Jesus let out a loud cry and breathed His last. Then the curtain of the sanctuary was split in two from top to bottom. Mark 15:33,34;37,38

Darkness represented judgement. The Lord's presence had been removed. This is why Jesus cried out. I wonder if, when the Christians are removed from the earth and judgement begins, what that will be like. What would it be like to not have God's presence in out lives?

The tearing of the curtain temple meant the Old had passed away. No longer was there a wall between God and His people.

The difference of judgement and acceptance was here.

I wonder if the saying: 'it is always darkest before the dawn,' applies here. The hardest time for Jesus was the last three hours when the Father turned His back on his sin-soaked Son. Now He was fully there for all. Jesus had successfully broken the divide by His sacrifice. Amen!
