Love Compels Us!

When the Sabbath was over, "Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so they could go and anoint Him. Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they went to the tomb at sunrise. They were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone from the entrance to the tomb for us?" Mark 16:1-3

Where were the men? Were they in shock, grief? Were they processing the words that Jesus spoke? Were they in prayer? It is interesting that the women went to the tomb not knowing how they would get it, not afraid of the soldiers, the Pharisees, the Romans.

In true womanly ways these women set out without a plan to enter the tomb, they just went. What made them go? Love! Adoration! Respect! Honour!

As my God does for me, another woman, He meets me there or sends a servant to provide. How considerate!

The love in the women overcame their grief and fear and compelled them to go. We must allow love in us to compel us to go.

Today I travel to Brisbane to see my favourite folk, my grandchildren and next week further training. If all goes well I am taking a woman from down the road to Armidale with me, she does not drive and wants to visit her daughter. I have a captive audience! I must go with an attitude to serve. Amen!
