Obedience is Keeping the Two Greatest Commands
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is: love your neighbour as yourself. There is no other command greater than these. Mark 12:30
Today I am challenged with these scriptures: in loving my God with all I am I must obey His prompting some to aid my fellow man and woman. He is giving me a few projects: a friend needs a picture framed and has been waiting for almost a year for a man to frame it. I have the tools and know how to do it; my odd neighbour down the street keeps taking the Coles shopping trolleys home and leaving them outside her house, why, she does not have a car and obviously does not want to pay for delivery. The third is praying for my church's heart and handling of new converts. I am willing to help but also pray for an open door.
One of these jobs will win a friend the other might win a neighbourhood, the last might keep souls. The concern is always being abused when offering generosity but hey! I am a big girl and can handle myself, all that is required is boundaries, loving ones.
I believe God is now showing me that to love Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength is being obedient to love others as He loves them. It is not just me having a comfortable time with Him in the security of my home, but it is to GO! Today is one of the nastiest, weather wise, but God picks the day, not me.
