Scripture or Me! Who is right?

After two days it was the Passover and the Festival of Unlevened bread. The chief priests and the scribes were looking for treacherous ways to arrest and kill Him."Not during the festival," they said, "or there may be rioting among the people." Mark 14:1,2

Here we have church leaders who were responsible for running the temple, leading the people, diving scripture plotting to kill Jesus because and got up their noses by confronting their hypocrisy. They could see that the people loved Him. He did them only good, unlike themselves.

What has transpired in their church culture for leaders to become such despots. What happened to the law: thou shalt not kill? What made them think they were above the law?

Tonight I read a good article by John Bevere on 'Good or God. ' The word good has been taken away from the biblical context, only God is good.

How does God lead us? By scripture. Only scripture carries divine truth. We distort truth to suit our own desires. Being led by the Spirti can easily be sabotaged by the flesh and our emotions.

Stay true to scripture. Amen! Seek godly counsel, listen to godly teaching. Just because your church does not teach on morality does not mean you can bend scripture to suit yourselves.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
