Be Persistent
I solomonly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge the living and the dead, and because of His appearing and His kingdom: proclaim the message; persist in it whether convenient or not; rebuke, correct, and encourage with great patience and teaching. For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear something new. They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths. But as for you, be serious about everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 2 Tim 4:1-5
Sound familiar? It is important that we create atmospheres in our homes of godliness. What is the TV doing on when your are having dinner or attempting to talk? What truth is being promoted? Relationships are more important than entertainment. I watch the young people at the skate park spending hours skating and talking to each other. They are having fellowship. No screen commands their attention. They are learning to coexist in an area that demands courtesy.
Christians are the light. What is lighting your flame? What is motivating you? Is your day governed by a desire to get home and watch your favourite show(s). Where are the people?
What do you listen to whilst driving, walking? Who is influencing you?
Giving God a casual thought or a quick prayer will not sustain you. Are you walking in your own strength?
You are meant to be the salt! What have you salted lately?
Come on Christian, you were destined to be an emissary of the most high, quit playing foolish games.
