I understand the Sacrifice and Am Grateful

For the grace of God has appeared with salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, while we wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people for His own possession, eager to do good works. Titus 2:11-14

When I fully comprehend the sacrifice that Jesus made for me, the extreme sacrifice, how He poured Himself out for me, I cannot live is lust or selfishness, I am called towards godliness and righteousness. I cannot partake in foolishness and wasteful living.

Tonight I heard from a man in my connect group on how he had never had a truely horrible person in his life and that life had been good. He is older than me.  I thought of all the horrible people I have had in mine and realised how our experiences were poles apart, yet this man has a heart to serve God. You don't have to have experienced hell to have a heart.

I love You Lord and am so grateful for all You did and still do. I thank You for Your Holy Spirit and for His faithfulness. Thank You Lord. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
