Leading by Example

But you have followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, and endurance, along with the persecutions and sufferings that came to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. What persecutions I endured! Yet the Lord rescued me from them all.
In fact, all those who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
Evil people and imposters will become worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. 2Tim 3:10-14

How good it is to have a mentor to follow, one that exhibits all Paul claims as his. In turn others look to us to provide this for them. Our society is faltering because those who should be leading have dropped the ball and been led into a side road of self-indulgence (lovers of self). The next generation then adopt corrupt standards, things them normal or acceptable because their parents, teachers and leaders so them.

Let us be like Paul, able to claim such an example. Amen!

Paul again visits the topic of suffering. He says: in fact those who want to live godly lives will be persecuted, not maybe but definitely will be. No use crying and having a pity party. It is normal.

The beautiful thing about suffering is it can cleanse deeply of all selfish motives, it scalds out the filth and makes us a fit vessel for God's glory. Now, that's when it gets good! Real good! Amen and amen!
