Never Give Up!

In the presence of God, who gives life to all, and of Christ Jesus, who gave a good confession before Pontius Pilate, I charge you to keep the command without fault or failure until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. God will bring this about in His own time. He is:

The blessed and only sovereign,

The King of Kings,

And the Lord of Lords,

The only One who has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, none has seen or can see Him, 

To Him be honour and eternal might. Amen! 1 Tim 6:13-16

Paul is charging Timothy with never giving up, fighting the good fight and enduring. Why? God is involved, He will bring it about in His own time.

Each of us have a walk, a path, a destiny, designed by God. We have glimmers of it but the big picture eludes us. We want peace, joy and blessing, yet often, because we are in a war, we face trials and temptations.

This morning, as I review the past week, or the past 12 years I see the trials and temptations I have faced, and gone through. God promises to take us through. Why have I gone through? Because I saw something beyond that drew me on. A vision, a drive that calls me forward.

There are different types of pain: relational pain that strips your heart bare; financial pain that troubles your sleep, and physical pain that wears you down. When I look at th life of the apostle Paul I see all of these, but he kept going and rejoicing. The prize s knowing Christ more, of seeing His kingdom come in my world.

I cannot give up, shut up, deny Him, turn away, because eternity is approaching for me, it is closer today than it was yesterday, what joy awaits me there. No more pain, only reward.

Jesus is Lord, He is God, He is my reward! Amen!
