Purity is Best

To the pure everything is pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; in fact, both their minds and consciences are defiled. They profess to know God but they deny Him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, and disqualified for any good work. Titus 1:15,16

When I think of purity I think of little children, how delightful their purity is, so clean and untainted, like crystal clear water. The opposite is true, I think of a young man I know who is a new Christian but still struggling with pornography. The jokes that come from someone on this side all filled with debauchery, lust and uncleaness. What went wrong? He was polluted by something he should never have been polluted with.

Little children that are made sex slaves are subject to a world of extreme uncleaness at an age they should never have to cope. Their innocence is destroyed, they are robbed of a pure view of life.

Recently I became involved with the development of a new skate park and happened to put a couple of possible images on Facebook. I advertised the post and had some unusual replies. The young men saw sexual organs, I didn't. My view and attitude to it was all about skating, not sex.

I remember when my children were little I helped fight the placing of pornographic magazines in fromt of the service desks in petrol stations. Little children do not need to see unclean, degrading images of women their mothers age. They need to respect their mothers and grow up to respect women. The little boys need to also respect themselves and sex in general.

I am all for purity and to keep it intact so that our world view will remain pure. Amen!
