Strong in Grace

You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
2 Tim 1,2

I remember the first time I had headr grace put differently. A friend and preacher once said that 'a grace' could be different to each person. How God's grace works in one is different to how grace works in another. The common denominator is, God, and His unmerited favour.

For Timothy, the grace that is in Christ Jesus, perhaps is strength to lead, against all that his natural inclinations tell him. Grace for an naturally stronger person may well be humility; grace for the anxious, assurance and ability to step out in faith.

His grace sustains us, lifts us, encourages us, remonstrated with us, inspires us, leads us to repentance (the best act of grace). Oh how I love grace and its friend mercy.

Paul,is encouraging Timothy to teach faithful men who will go and teach others. These are the best pupils, they are like blotting paper, they will soak up and soak up and soak up truth. They are hungry for truth. Good men and women they be!
