The Character of Those in the Last Days
GBut know this: difficult times will come in the last days. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self- control, brutal, without love for what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding a form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people! 2 Tim 3:1-5
Isn't it interesting that the reason difficult times come is because of how people have become wicked and self- centered? Are we looking at the times we live in? Yes!
Next, what are we told to do with these people? Avoid them! Because they hold a ' form of godliness', then they must be church people. So, in the house we have problems. Oh dear!
What are your prayers like? 'Lord bless me and mine, we three, Amen! Is this all there is? Is this the only reason you exist?
When I become excited about what a God is doing through me at the Skate Park across from my office, and I share it with other Christians, often I see a glazed look. Not interested! 'Me and mine, we three amen!' When our prayers are only about us and no one else, we have a problem.
Today I met with a group of people about the Skate Park. Two were young boys, well teenagers. They were nice boys. I liked them a lot and wanted to hug them. I refrained. But my heart is full of love for for them. How different from what some would imagine. More people needed to meet them and change their minds about them.
