Watch Your Life

Pay close attention to your life and your teaching; persevere in these things, for by doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers. 1 Tim 4:16

To pay close attention to our lives, we must slow down and live purposefully. The modern buzz word around church is 'intentionally,' I am a bit over its overuse, if you are I apologise.

How do we manage our hearts? Our thoughts, our actions? By living with thought and purpose. When my heart gets yucky I pull away and make myself sit in the Lord's presence. I don't like dirt in my system.

I watched an interesting video by Rick Warren today. He said that because his work is primarily cerebral he relaxes in his veggie garden. Rather than try and make myself sit tonight I pulled out my painting gear and did a painting. It was good. Painting allows my inner self to process.

I want to be in the best possible place for the women's conference here in Tamworth. It starts tomorrow night. I have unchurched coming and on Saturday afternoon I have been asked to participate in a time of prophesy, prayer and presence.

Today the pain in my ribs took me to the doctor to organise an X-ray. I inured myself on Monday night and the pain had increased. This afternoon I came home from work and went to bed for a rest.

Leaning to manage me is important. If I manage me well, I live well and in touch with the Lord.
