Faith and Obedience
By faith he instituted the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn might not touch the Israelites. By faith he crossed the Red Sea as though they were on dry land. When the Egyptians attempted to do his they were drowned. Hebrews 11:27-29
What I see is obedience, yet it is called faith. Why? Because Moses trusted God, he obediently followed.
So, when I step out where God would have me, trusting against all, it is faith. Moses had the noise of the people he was delivering and the noise of the Egyptians who were used to being their lords and masters. They would have been taunting them, confident that these stupid people would fail.
Noise and opposition are a given. This is where focussed trust comes into play. The Lord often says to me: "Look at Me!" When I am looking at him, I cannot see or hear the noise, even though it is still there. Amen!
