Egypt is Saved

On that day Egypt will be like women. She will tremble with fear because of the threatening hand of the Lord of Hosts when he raises it against her. The land of Judah will terrify Egypt; whenever Judah is mentioned, Egypt will tremble because of what the Lord of Hosts has planned against it.
On that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Caanan and swear loyalty to the Lord of Hosts. One of the cities will be called the City of the Sun.
On that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the centre of the land of Egypt and a pillar to the Lord near her boarder. It will be a sign and witness to the Lord of Hosts in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, He will send them a saviour and leader, and he will rescue them. The Lord will make Himself known to Egypt, and Egypt will know the Lord on that day. Isaiah 19:16-21

How good is this? The very nation that oppressed God's people will themselves be oppressed and cry out to the Lord and He will rescue them. I am speculating now, I wonder if the land was sanctified because of Joseph and Moses? More so Joseph, for he spent almost all his life there and his righteous behaviour brought blessing on the land. The pharaoh who was good to God's people also sanctified the land.

I am looking for this day, the One Day! The day of the Lord! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
