Garments of Glory
The Lord also says:
Because the daughters of Zion are haughty;
Walking with heads held high and seductive eyes,
Going along with prancing steps,
Jingling their ankle bracelets,
The Lord will put scabs on the heads of the daughters of Zion,
And the Lord will shave their foreheads bare. Isaiah 3:16,17
I am very amused with this picture, I can't explain why but that I must have a warped sense of humour. I can see it, the proud and haughty suddenly losing their hair. The hair is the glory of a woman.
It reminds me that we can be so caught up in image, especially when we are young teenagers. A label can mean so much, when in reality in means little. Our God, and knowing Him personally is more important, yet somehow image is not cool with a God picture.
I remember battling with my children and them wanting something because of a label. At times I creatively refused and others bluntly refused. Occasionally I might give a label item as a surprise.
I am more than what I wear. In eternity labels will be gone and knowing Him will be all that really matters. I pray that my knowing of Him is in fact a garment I wear in eternity. My level of love for Him will determine the colour.
Imagine having a garment with only splotches of colour, when others walk by in glorious, vivid blues, emerald greens, crimsons, purples, gold and silver. Not to get the garment will I love Him, I will love Him because of who He is. He can give the garment that matches my love.
How will wonder look, thankfulness, grace, gratitude, joy, praise? Ah! What beauty we will see! Amen!
