Go and Exalt the Lord by Being Obedient

Yahweh, You are my God; I will exalt You. I will praise Your name, for you have accomplished wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness. Isaiah 25:1

Today I took my mum to Bingara, NSW, Australia to visit my aunt who is 87. Mum turns 84 this coming week and longed to see my aunt who has gone into a nursing home after a heart attack, her third. We drove 150kms for a hour's visit and then had lunch and headed home. Whilst visiting my aunt her daughter came. Both are my Facebook friends. When I saw them scrolling down Facebook and the daughter said, "There is Di!" I had posted something or other. It made me realise they read my posts and my posts are invariably inspiration quotes or something uplifting.

Heading home we travelled 50kms and I knew I was tired. We stopped for coffee. We found, in a little obscure town, the best coffee shop in the whole region, when most coffee shops are shut on a Saturday afternoon, they were open.

I had a determination to go to the next town to visit a priest who had been important in my life growing up. He had been on my heart for a while but my mum did not want to visit him. Every time I mentioned it she would respond in the negative. So, what does a determined soul do? Goes. This man is elderly and today might be his last.

I left the car running and my mum was sure I would be disappointed, but when God arranges things, you never are! He was there and welcomed me in. I told him what I went there to tell him, about the born again experience and he asked me if I prayed in tongues and I said "Yes!" We had the best conversation and when I left he went out to visit my mum, who apologised to me after we left.
My day was made! I had done what I had to do, share the reality of the gospel with my old priest.

Before I left today my old dog was crying in pain and I gave her a small dose of paradol. I googled ' can I give my dog panadol whilst in Bingara and was told 'No!' I half expected her to be dead, but she wasn't, I had prayed for her and she as fine. I sensed that she was in trouble to stop me going, I was right.

While have I babbled on? Sorry! But sometimes there is no short story. The lesson: there are times when you must go and do what you are burdened to do by God. There are souls waiting to hear the good news, go and share it! Amen!
