Immanuel

Then the Lord spoke again to Ahaz: "Ask the Lord for a sign from the Lord your God- from the depths of Sheol to the heights of heaven."
But Ahaz replied, "I will not ask, I will not test the Lord."
Isaiah said, "Listen, house of David! Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men? Will you also try the patience of my God? Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: the virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel. By the time he learns to reject what is bad and choose what is good, he will be eating butter and honey. For before he boy knows to reject what is bad and choose what is good, the land of the two kings you dread will be abandoned." Isaiah 7:10-16

Who has failed in their faith? Who has not believed the word of the Lord? Who has questioned prophesy? I have to confess I have. Not all at the same time but I am guilty just as this king was guilty.

Oh how good it is to have a saviour. In the above scripture it talks of Immanuel, God with us. This was a type of Jesus. He is with us and in us. We are saved! Amen! His blood was enough, once and for all time. There is nothing I can do to add to His perfect sacrifice to make it better. He won the freedom for us all and I gladly accept it and run with it.

Praise God for sending Jesus! I need not fear my enemy nor what he shouts what he will do to me. He is a liar and a thief. No good thing is in him. I am safe, I do not need to listen to his threats. Amen!
