Jesus Makes a Difference

Then the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. And the idols shall utterly pass away. Isaiah 2:17,18

Two possible scenarios here: an outpouring of the Spirit and conviction of sin and forsaking of all fleshly pursuits in genuine salvation ; judgement. I prefer the former and pray to this end. To me, this is the greatest hurt I can do to the kingdom of darkness, seeing a flood of repentance on the land.

Yesterday I heard a very good sermon, but it stopped one point short of the complete picture. The preacher forgot why we are here, to see souls saved. His message was about salvation and living righteously, yet this is not an end in itself but rather a product of a life linked to Christ. Jesus Himself came to seek and save the lost not to teach the Jews how to live righteously. They had had centuries of prophets, judges, teachers but none were able to sanctify completely and all failed, except Jesus.

Jesus is the source, the powerhouse, the way, the truth, the life. In Him is life and light. I can totally yield to him and see myself made complete in Him. What a saviour! Amen!
