A Light to the Nations

And now, says the Lord, who formed me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him so that Israel might be gathered to Him; for I am honoured in the sight of the Lord, and my God is my strength- He says, "It is not enough for you to be my Servant raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected ones of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations, to be My salvation to the ends of the earth." This is what the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, says to one who is despised, to one abhorred by people, to a servant of rulers: "Kings will see and stand up, and princes will bow down, because of the Lord, who is faithful, the holy One of Israel- and He has chosen you." Isaiah 49:5-7

At first glance I thought this was about Cyrus, but he would not be a light to the nations, then I realised it was prophetically speaking about Jesus. He was despised and rejected by men, yet his death would open the way for both Jew and Greek, and all manner of weak individuals to come into a relationship with the Father. The Lord was His strength, the Father honoured Him at His baptism.

What I love is: Kings will see and stand up, and princes will bow down.....because the Lord chose Him. Amen! Philippians 2:10 at the name of Jesus every knee every knee will bow.

As many as who accept Him He gives power to be sons of God. John 1:12 It is a matter of choice. Do I choose to accept him and make Him Lord of my life? If I do, He gives me the power to act and behave as a daughter of the King. Amen!
