A Righteous Purpose

This is what God, "Yahweh, says- who created the heavens and stretched them out,
Who spread out the earth and what comes from it,
Who gives breath to the people on it and life to those who walk on it-
"I, Yahweh, have called you for a righteous purpose, and I will hold you by your hand.
I will keep You and appoint you to be a covenant people and a light to the nations, 
In order to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeons, and those sitting in darkness from the prison house.
I, Yahweh, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another or My praise to idols.
The last events have indeed happened, now I will declare new events, I announce them to you before they occur." Isaiah 42:5-9

We are called for a righteous purpose. What is that purpose? To be a light to the nations; to open blind eyes; set prisoners free. No small task, but when I see the plight of much of mankind I grieve. Evil men destroy the little people, the voiceless, the hopeless, those unable to defend themselves. Yet, the Christian is called to make a change, to defend the defenceless, lift up the downtrodden. Amen!

What is my part in this? The task is overwhelming, but I must seek God for the place He wants me to make a difference. Amen

The important thing is God is the leader, He gets the glory, not me! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
