Be Just!

This is what the Lord says:
Preserve justice and do what is right, for My salvation is coming soon and My righteousness will be revealed. Isaiah 56:1

There is always a temptation to short- cut, under pay, under perform, give less, hold back. When I am giving a gift I say to myself, "What would a rich person do?" I want to be seen as generous. I want generosity to be such a part of me that generosity flows through my world.

Today I was talking to a man who works to help stricken farmers and I offered my services free of charge. I love the farmers and want to help them in their plight. I would do more but know that  God gives me all He wants me to disperse. I can trust Him with the flow of resources.

On Friday night I am having a work Christmas party and have invited people who may be interested in buying a painting. They are all up for sale. What I make goes to the farmers.

We need to cultivate generosity, it is a source of blessing to others. It blesses the giver! Be generous!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
