God is in Control- Period!
I- I am the one who comforts you. Who are you that you should fear man who dies, or a son of man who gives up like grass? But you have forgotten the Lord your maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth. You are in constant dread all day long because of the fury of the oppressor, who has set himself to destroy. But where is the fury of the oppressor? The prisoner is soon to be set free; he will not die and go to the a pit, and his food will not be lacking. For I am Yahweh your God who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar- His name is Yahweh of hosts. Isaiah 51:12-15
The oppressor is Satan, pure and simple. In a day when such a statement is ridiculed because the owner of the name has downplayed his image and made evil good, confusion is rife, another of his tools. We have an enemy and it is not our neighbour who annoys us, or our brother who causes us grief.
Scripture tells us in 2 Cor 10:3-5 that the enemy is spiritual: for though we live in the body, we do not wage war in an unspiritual way, since the weapons of our warfare are not worldly, but are powerful through a God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments and every high-minded thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, taking every thought captive to obey Christ.
Our war is spiritual and the best weapon is prayer and praise. Arguments and attacks of others is futile. By attacking others we are appearing foolish and a person wih a nasty temperament.
When we focus on the person who is doing the harm, we become fearful, angry, resentful. Why not lift out sights to the Lord who says: "I've got this covered!" There are a lot of 'what ifs,' floating around causing fear, why not trust what the Lord says He can do?
