God's ways and thoughts are higher than mine

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways." This is the Lord's declaration. For as the heaven is higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways, and My thoughts that your thoughts.
For just as the rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return there without saturating the earth and making it germinate and sprout, and provide seed to sow and food to eat, so My word comes from My mouth and will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosepper in what I send it to do." Isaiah 55:8-11

The longer I live, the better I know this to be true. My thoughts are full of agitating worries and self-depreciation or self-aggrandisement at times. Although I know that the best place for my thoughts is God, I have to make them go there, however, they automatically think about how things affect me.

My thoughts need constant training and shepherding, they are wayward when left to themselves. Our flesh is sinful and basically no good dwells there. I therefore have to constantly renew my mind and never let up. Romans tells me I am transformed by the renewal of my mind.

If the above scripture is correct then I need to seek God's thoughts as higher thought will liberate and lift me up. His ways must be my pursuit, not my own ways. His ways will lead to a future and a hope, mine will lead to death and destruction.

God is faithful and His word is true! I can trust it! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
