Has the Lord Forgotten Me?
Zion says: "The Lord has abandoned me; the Lod has forgotten me!"
"Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb?
Even if these forget, yet I will no forget you. Look, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me. Your builders hurry; those who destroy and devastate you will leave you. Look up, look around. They all gather together; they come to you." Isaiah 49:14-18
Have you ever complained that God has forgotten you? That family and friends have forgotten you? I am sure you have, it is something we can all experience at times, I have. Our disappointment all stems from us thinking our life should go a way we think it should go, often in fact God has other plans.
The people we think that should care, don't because they really are on other assignments. In our pain we grasp and struggle but what we need to do is rest and wait on the Lord. He is not always chatting to us either and this is distressing, probably because we have come from a life that is filled with chatter. The new is different, better and purpose built just for us. Amen!
Yet here we see God talking to a city, telling it He sees it walls before Him. He has built a relationship with the owners of the city and was there as they constructed it, He engineered a lot of it. I am passionate about things and people that I build a relationship with. I am currently creating new friendships, some are further along than others, and these I cherish more, because of the time spent.
God is not a fickle friend, our names are engraved on the palms of His hands, He is into tattoos as well. Personally I am not, but it is ok for those who do. My daughter-in-law had a word tattoo on her wrist when her youngest son did not die from drowning, I think it says grateful. This is her way of building a memorial to the day her son did not die, but lived. That day is etched in my memory banks as well.
