Seek the Lord Again!
The Lord says this to Cyrus, His anointed, whose right hand I have grasped to subdue the nations before him, to disarm kings, toopen the doors before him and the gates will not be shut: "I will go before you and level the uneven places; I will shatter the bronze doors and cut the iron bars in two. I will give you treasures of darkness and riches from the secret places, so that you may know that I, Yahweh, the God is Israel called you by name. Isaiah 45:1-3
God has chosen to use Cyrus from Persia to defeat Israel's enemies and restore her to her homeland.
Here God is promising Cyrus hidden treasures. God tends to make His promises when all around us seems to indicate otherwise. The promise comes to encourage.
Today we have seen more vicious brutality as he terrorists launched several attacks in Paris, killing over 150 people and injuring many more. Of all times, now is the time Paris needs a promise of hope,
David was at his lowest and whilst away at war his enemies came and stole all the women and children. Already tired David sought the Lord and asked Him if he should give chase and take the women and children back. God tells him, "Yes!"
David and his men were beyond exhaustion but they went any way and brought their families home.
Paris cannot bring back to life those taken senselessly, but the people can seek God for His guidance and consolation. In all times of anguish God was there for me, He has not failed.
