The Spirit is Coming
For the palace will be forsaken, the busy city abandoned. The hill and the watchtower will become barren places forever, the joy of wild donkeys, and a pasture for flocks, until the Spirit from heaven is poured out on us.
Then the desert will become an orchard, and the orchard will seem like a forest. Then justice will inhabit the wilderness, and righteousness will dwell in the orchard. The results of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quiet confidence forever.
Then My peoples will dwell in a peaceful place, in safe and secure dwellings. Isaiah 32:14-18
My spirit longs for the revealing of God, the revealed word of God and the revealed Spirit of God. All creation waits, longing for its creator to appear. Palaces built without God are empty places, hills and watchtowers can only do so much, but blessed is the one who sees the coming of the Lord.
In Australia we have had a severe drought that is finally breaking. When you look at land held in the grip of drought, it is cracked, parched, dry and lacking moisture and producing nothing but dust. Yet, when the rains come, up shoots green grass and water pools. The air is light and fresh. Animals are happily frolicking, humans are rejoicing.
When the Spirit from heaven is poured out, dry hearts soften, bend, yield, open, respond. The Spirit brings refreshing and hope. The desert becomes an orchard and the orchard seems like a forest.
When the Spirt is poured out, righteousness awakens and peace prevails, quiet confidence resides.
Stop, wait, turn, the Spirti fo God is coming, the storm is appearing, spreading across the sky. The rain, beautiful rain is near, filling dry gullies, empty dams. Wait for Him! Amen!
