Whose Report Will You Believe?
In the fourteenth year of King Hzekiah, Sennacherib King of Assyria attacked all the fortified cities of Judah and captured them. Then the King of Assyria sent Rabshakeh, along with6; a massive army, from Lachish to asking Hezekiah at Jerusalem.
Then Rabshakeh said to them, "Tell Hezekiah: the great King, the King of Assyria, says this: what are you relying on?" I say that your strategy and military preparedness are mere words.
Suppose you say to me: "we trust in the Lord our God. Isn't ahe the One whose high places and altars Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, "You are to worship at this altar"? Isaiah 36:1,2; 6; 7
Assyria was full of its own might, believed it was invincible and sold the lie. When they came to Jerusalem they came up against a King, Hezekiah, who trusted the Lord. This King went to God for help.
In life we will come across big business, banks, investment houses and the like who believe their own story. But, when God takes on our case, we are in good hands. Amen!
We must learn to rest in Him! Amen!
