Being Likeminded and Sympathetic
Now finally, all of you should be likeminded and sympathetic, should love believers, and be compassionate and humble, not paying back evil for evil or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing, since you were called for this, so that you can inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:8,9
Being likeminded is a challenge, yet it is possible. Loving God and serving His kingdom's principles instead of our own is first and foremost. If we are all seeking Him, following Him, then we will be of a like mind.
Being sympathetic again is easy if we are filled with His desires and purposes and not our own. For He is love.
Loving believers is a sinch when we abide in Him, because He does.
Being compassionate is easy for one whose focus is on the Lord and not the flesh. Jesus was the most compassionate of men.
Being humble is possible as I walk behind Him, He was the humblest of men, He did not see His eternal position as one to be grasped, He had it and lay it down for us.
Not paying back evil for evil is sowing seeds of restitution and healing. Paying back evil is digging a trench for evil to dwell in. We were called to sow blessings so we could reap blessings. Amen!
Last night I took my neighbour to the Christmas Carols. When I took her home she was aglow. She had wanted to go to Christmas Carols for 51 years and finally someone went with her. She is now going to church Christmas Eve and I am taking her. She is on her way home. Amen!
