Deeply Committed

And who will harm you if you are deeply committed to what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear or be disturbed, but honour the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. 1 Peter 3:13-15

There are many things that will attempt to pull you away from what is good. Thoughts about failure, based on human reasoning, of course; guilt; annoyance; impatience (a big one).

Tonight I conducted a competition night at the local skate park. I am endeavouring to make friends with lost people. If you look at the money raise for the surface reason, I failed. However, my God was watching. I am creating relationships and building trust. One young man gleefully told me he had a great time, the best yet, another came up and hugged me, he was so grateful. I am a 62 year old woman wanting to love an element of my community that, in God's eyes, are just as important as the rest of my city. I also enlisted two more mothers to the cause, my committee is growing.

I must say the group at the Skate park I like. There are frictions, of course, but on the whole, they manage with one another: three disciplines getting along in a small space. I am impressed.

In everything I do, I must trust my God for His perspective and not my own. His judgement is true and the only one that brings life. Amen!
