Go Out Through the Gates

Go out, go through the gates; prepare a way for the people! Build it up, build up the highway; clear away the stones! Raise a banner for the peoples. Isaiah 62:10

Gates are usually a part of security for a city. In our own lives we can opt to be barricaded in a safe place, behind walls and not willing to go out. Yet the Lord is commanding for us to go out, build up the highway and clear away the stones. Why? So that people may come. What are the stones? Offense, destroyed lives, brokenness. Something that once was alive and flourishing was has been destroyed.

In myself I am convicted that I must make a stand for righteousness and not compromise. There are many times when I struggle to remain steadfast, it is like I am fasting my own desire for ease and lack of pain, so that I can make a stand and do acts hat oppose the work of the enemy. He has come in like a flood with lies and he has destroyed. My job is to face him off and rebuild he ancient paths to righteousness.

I stand against all works of the flesh and deny myself the right to squander my life, my precious, blood bought life, in dens of iniquity. In standing I give the very thing that the enemy takes. When he rejects I love, when he criticises, I praise, when he steals, I give and give and give. The times I give I lack and so the pain is worse. The times I must love I am in anguish of soul, the times I must sow finances, I have nothing. Yet in all these acts I am rebuilding the ancient ruins.

By sacrifice, we win! Amen!
