Protected by God's Power

You are being protected by God's power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials so that the genuineness of your faith- more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire- may result in praise, glory and honour at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:5-7

Oh how I needed to hear this. Lately the enemy is piling on the what ifs: what is that pain, why  are you hurting there, why won't the pain go away. On and on he has been harassing me with thoughts of cancer and needing to go through more trials. Thank you Lord! I claim this promise as mine!

Why do we put up with the lies? What makes us believe them? Why not rebuke them and watch them flee. I know the answer, I get busy and preoccupied and do not realise the source. I am glad my God is always alert and watching over me.

Tonight I had invited a complete stranger over for dinner. What a blessing! I found a kindred spirit. This woman walks in faith, trusts her God and waits for Him. Ah! How refreshing! She told me some of her stories and how God has led her into enemy territory and she went trusting Him for every step. He never failed her. He will not fail me, He will not fail you. Trust Him! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
