The Outworking of God's Offence
The Lord saw that there was no justice, and He was offended. He saw that there was no man-He was amazed that there was none interceding; so His own arm brought salvation, and His own righteousness supported Him. He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; Isaiah 59:15-17
I love these passages. God's offense caused Him to act on behalf of the victims, He brought about salvation by His own actions. In a world where hard hearts live there is a God who is just, sees inequity and acts. Whilst we become offended and nasty, He becomes offended and useful.
I also love finding where the concept of girding my breast with righteousness and my head with the helmet of salvation mentioned in Ephesians 6:14,17 comes from. How good it is to find a beginning of a concept and an idea that is divine! Isn't it interesting that if God can do this, so can I because He lives inside me. Yes!
