God's Way is Good!
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure- pressed down, shaken together, and running over- will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you." Luke 6: 37,38
Do you want a good life? Do not judge or condemn, instead forgive, give grace to others, give God room to convict, give generously and good will come back to you. In the measure you give, it will be given to you.
So simple! Yet it can be frustratingly hard to accomplish, especially if you try and do it yourself, in your own strength. If we are abiding in the Lord, then we have the strength, the attitude and the grace.
Do you know that frustration comes when our expectations differ to God's and other peoples? If we are on the same page as the Lord, then we will cog back our expectations to 'God is good!' And leave it at that. Everyone will disappoint, God will disappoint because disappointment comes with our agenda.
I love God surprises! Today I gave up work- time to take my mother shopping and came away with two surprises, two new dresses. I rarely shop and if I do I know what I want and I will go and buy it. However, the last two days have been filled with a new thing, girl-shop (women try on everything, well almost). Yesterday it was shoes. I wanted one pair and came away with three after trying on around 10 pair, today I was looking for work clothes and came away blessed with much more than expected, after trying on the shop, well at least 10-15 dresses.
This morning I had a change of heart. I had pulled out of going to Adelaide for our annual conference and was overcome with a sudden desire to go to conference. I obtained very reasonable airfares, was able to re-instate my original booking and will share accomodation with a staff member. Afte the conference I will stay on for 11 days for a holiday with friends. I am planning on diving an old volcano hole, filled with water of course, in a place called Mount Gambier, in South Australia. I read about this years ago and have wanted to dive it ever since. I have relatives down that way and the woman who lead me to Christ was living there last time I talked to her. I have not seen her for absolutely years. I know I am going to have a great time.
Isn't God good? Amen!
