The Light

No one lights a lamp and puts it in the cellar or under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who come in May see the light. Luke 11:33

Jesus said He was the 'light of the world.' The truth of this gospel has been hidden at times, there have been great periods of darkness, oppressive rulers have arisen and attempted to stamp out the light, but they failed. The more they attempted to drive out the light, the brighter it shone. The religious leaders thought that by crucifying Jesus that would solve the problem, but He was the spark that entered the dry grass and the truth ran like wildfire.

We have a task. As Christians we are to shine our light, so that others may come in when they see the light.

Have you ever had a dream in which you are lost and can't find your way back to something or someone? I just awoke from such a dream. I have a young woman who works for me who has a small son. In my dream they lived across the street from me. She had asked me to go across and mind her son while she went out with friends. Simple! Wrong! I crossed to where I believed she lived and the house I knew she lived in was gone. Frantic I searched and searched but could not find the house. The more frantic I became, the more lost I became. As I did not have my glasses I could not use my mobile to call her. I kept trying to get people to help me find her phone number, they failed. I couldn't find a phone shop, but more importantly could not trust the Lord. He was speaking to my heart to trust Him yet my sense of responsibility was so great I expected that I had to solve the problem.

There are situations where we are presented with a sick loved one, what should we say? What should we do? There are times that we should just pray. I had a day like this yesterday. My mother had to have a MRI on her pancreas. The doctors wants to be certain she does not have pancreatic cancer. Mum and I faced this threat years ago and won, but now it is back threatening her again. I keep saying, "I don't believe she has cancer, we faced this over 20'years ago and won." I believe that when you face an enemy and win, he has not place to come back, if that place has been filled with Christ. My belief is now being tested.

Yesterday whilst at work I sensed I needed to pray. I asked the Lord for mercy and grace and He was there, right where I needed Him. I knew He was involved. I love it when I turn to Him and He is there. I have to trust Him with this. In my dream my employee was going through something similar. She asked me what I believed. I said I did not have confidence in her healing but was praying for her. When I told her I was not confident she was devastated. In my dream I was struggling with connecting with the Lord. In reality, yesterday, I had.

The enemy loves to grandstand and make a lot of noise. We can't believe the noise, We have to go to the Lord and invite Him in and ask for His mercy and grace. He answers those prayers. Smiths Wigglesworth always prayed until he saw Jesus, then he knew he had his answer and would lay hands on the sick. When we see Jesus, He is involved and victory is sure. Amen!
