Fire Upon the Earth

"I have come to cast fire upon the earth, and how I wish that it were already kindled."

This verse deals with judgement at the second coming. By saying He wished it was already kindle, perhaps He was referring to all that went in between, including His impending suffering.

I have been reading a lot about planets and stars lately, probably because I have bought a telescope. There was a particular discussion around the significance of Jupiter and how it shields us from bad stuff, but also attracts other stuff, I might say okay stuff.

There was another article that showed that the larger planets don't seem to have a set rotation around the moon. They somehow move in and out, according to a pattern, whereas the smaller planets, earth included are fixed. There are many theories as to why this happens, I know it is God.

Yet the book of Revelation tells us there is coming a time when the stars fall and large burning objects, I suppose comets or meteors fall in the sea and on land. As much as man tries to control what happens to the earth, all the effort to prevent global warming will fail when this disaster hits.

Whether we see this judgement firsthand or are taken before it comes, we will see it, even if from afar. If we should be alive when Christ returns, we'd better be ready as there is no second chances, not then, not again. His grace leans toward us now, longing for fellowship. Surely we can give up self and lean into Him! Amen!
