Found Diligent

"Lord," Peter asked, "are you telling this parable to us or to everyone?"
The Lord said, "who then is the faithful and sensible manager his master will put in charge of his household servants to give them their allotted food at the proper time?mthat slave whose master finds him working when he comes will be rewarded. I tell you the truth: He will put him in charge of all his possessions. But if the slave says in his heart, "My master is delayed in coming, " and starts to beat the male and female slaves, and to eat and drink and get drunk, that slave's master will come on a day he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers. And that slave who knew his masters will and didn't prepare himself or do it will be severely beaten. But the one who did not know and did things deserving blows will be beaten lightly. Much will be required of everyone who has been given much. And more will be expected of the one who has been entrusted with more." Luke 12:41-48

Jesus is serious in regard to His return and the state of His people at that time. For us who knew more about His ways, more will be expected. The current world we live in white washes sin and plays down slackness, but Jesus is making it plain: if you know what you are doing and choose to do wrong, you are in trouble, especially if you know the truth, yet abuse those under you.

We have been expecting Jesus' return for a long, long time yet he delays so that more may come in. In the delay we are tempted to not stay faithful and white hot towards Him, so much grapples for out attention. The lusts of the world and its ease beckons and the 'pleasant looking places, where we might just go and take a rest,' call us. We fail to look at the faces of those who are there. Have a good look! Are they on fire for God or are their lamps snuffed out? Get out of there!

Disappointment in life will cause us to lose focus and wander into the shadows. We need to deal with the disappointment, repent of our hard heart, find the Lord's heart and move on in His grace.

Yesterday I had one of my staff tell me she has thyroid cancer and I held her as she cried. I asked if she knew Jesus in her heart and she said she did. I told her that God was with her and would walk through this fire with her, as we would. I am in the fray and will not yield her to Satan, I will fight for her.

Yesterday afternoon my mother received the 'all clear' from the scare fo pancreatic cancer. I was in the fray fighting for her life. I have asked the Lord that my mother dies of old age and that alone. We had faced pancreatic cancer over 20 years ago and won. I reminded mum that a victory gained is not given back. I was careful to speak life, victory and hope.

I will speak life, victory and hope over Alice, I will be found diligent should Jesus comes.
