The Heart of a Child

Now they were also bringing even babies to Him that He might touch them, and when the disciples noticed it, they reproved them. But Jesus called the parents to him and said, "Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for to such as these belongs the kingdom of God. Truely I say to you, whoever does not accept and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child does, shall not in any way enter it at all. Luke 18:15-17

This is one of those times when you need to read and pause. Does this scripture challenge you or bless you? It will challenge you if you are into works, becoming legalistic, judgemental, stiff in your worship and really, deep down, not free.

However, if you are skipping on the inside and rejoicing in knowing the Lord, you are behaving like a little child. Enjoy!

Just like a Geiger counter discerns the presence of uranium, take this scripture, go somewhere quiet, by yourself and meditate on it, chew it over, ask the Lord to reveal the you inside. Is it free and enjoying His presence. If not, ask Him to baptise you again in fire and clean away the dross and yield, and yield, and yield, until you are free.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
