The Second Coming

Then He told the disciples: "The days are coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you won't see it.
They will say to you, 'Look There!' Or 'Look here!' Don't follow or run after them. For as the lightening flashes across the sky, so the Son of Man will be in His day. But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by is generation.
And just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man: people went on eating and drinking and marrying and giving in marriage until the last day Noah boarded the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. It will be the same way as it was in the days of Lot. People went on eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building. But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
On that day, a man on the housetop, whose belongings are in the house, must not come down to get them. Likewise the man in the field must not turn back. remember Lot's wife! Whoever tries to make his life secure will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, on that night two will be in one bed: one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding grain together: one will be taken and the other left. Two will be in the field: one will be taken, the other left."
"Where, Lord?" They asked Him.
He said to them, "Where the corpse is, there also the vultures will be gathered." Luke 17:22-37

The return of Christ is longed for by those who are His, this has been the same down through time. I am sure for every one that suffered in a corrupt society at the hands of evil men assumed He must come soon. I look at the ways of this present world and it is sliding fast into filth and degradation. Much like the times of Lot and the times of Noah, it is now.

Yet Jesus is quick to say, life will be going on as normal in at day. We cannot predict the time of His return. I remember when I was first saved, we believed Jesus would return very soon. That was 43 years ago. I believe it now more than ever, but there is nothing I can do but trust, pray and reach out to the lost.

It is important that we don't run after those predicting they know what Jesus Himself said He did not know. The Farher alone knows the day. Matthew 24:36.

Yes we do long for the second coming, but in that longing should press into more of God in our own time so that when we do see Him, we will rejoice and not be one of those left behind. I am looking forward to a glorious eternity, I want nothing to hold me back from all God has for me. Amen

So he took Him to Jerusalem, had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "if you are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
