A Different View

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."
He called out, " Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Jesus stopped and ordered the man be brought to Him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you? "Lord, I want to see," he replied. Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God, when all the people saw it they also praised God. Luke 18:35-43

The crowd had a momentum all of its own, yet it had run on in the flesh and deemed this blind man not worthy of stopping Jesus. It is so easy to run along in momentum and feel the euphoria but miss the heart of God. He is Never, ever too busy or in too much of a hurry for the least of all the people on earth. No one, not a blind beggar, not a demoniac, not leppers, women with issues of blood, not prostitutes, no one is too much trouble.

Today I found myself in Brisbane in a busy shopping mall trying to remember where I was and searching for a case for the iPod my son was buying his son for his bird at tomorrow. I had to take hold of my mind and step back and ask the Lord, "What are you doing Lord?" I smiled more and was more courteous and calmed myself as I was tired, having been up since 4:30 am, negotiated Brisbane traffic after landing and here I was in a busy shopping centre having a difficult time solving a few problems.

I praise God for good navigation, especially a GPS. After getting back in the car and having to work out someone else's GPS I settled down to drive to my son's home.

You know our own pain, struggles, hardships can cloud our minds and we can miss what God is doing. Sometimes He is doing a lot, sometimes a little. But being observant and smiling at folk made their day. It works!

A swim, a cold drink and I am refreshed. I took my grandson, the eldest, out to dinner for his birthday. He loves Sushi, as it happens, so do I. He ate like a vaccum, we bought some lollies and went home to watch a movie of his choice. What a good day! All because of a good attitude. Amen!
