Being Ready

"Then there will be signs in the sun, moon and stars; and there will be anguish on the earth among nations bewildered by the roaring sea and waves. People will faint from fear and expectation of the things that are coming on the world, because the celestial powers will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the cloud with power and great glory. But when these things take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because you redemption is near!" Luke 21:25-28

Having recently joined an astronomical group I am seeing things as they are for the first time. On Monday night I saw Jupiter and the gas rings around its surface, along with four of its largest moons. You might say I was gob-smacked! The more knowledgeable of the group told us about the stars, constellations, planets and comets above. I saw the home of baby stars, the graveyard of the dead stars.

One man told me about a very recent collision a meteor had with earth in Russia, in 2013. He said that the meteor exploded in the atmosphere creating a wave of energy that blew out windows and smashed buildings. I was left wondering, 'how did I not hear about this?' He explained that the Russian government down-played the whole event.

I was told of other near misses and know that it is only a matter of time and the above scripture will be played out before us. I am rejoicing as knowing the Lord is returning is the WoW factor for me.

Our concern is being ready when He comes. Amen!
