He is Lord

But He asked them, "How can people say that the Christ is David's son? For David himself says in the Book of Psalms, 'The Lord said to my Lord, 'sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.'
So David calls Him Lord; how then is He his Son?"
With all the people listening! he said to His disciples, "beware of the scribes, who like to walk about in long robes and love to be saluted with honour in places where people congregate and love the front and best seats in the synagogues and places of distinction at feasts, who make away with and devour widows houses, and to cover it up with pretence make long prayers. They will receive the greatest condemnation." Luke 20:41-47

Today I met with a group of people I am trying to help to gain a new facility in my town. I invited along a man from council. The people attacked the man and I was amazed. I later discovered that accusations of lies and cover- ups have been circulating in the group and they were ready to riot. I came away decimated. I go before the Lord and all I want is Him and His truth, I know when I find His presence I am safe. Without it I am on thin ice and the project is futile.

If council are saying one thing to others and a different story to me then the cover-up needs to be exposed. The truth needs to rule. I pray God's truth rules and not gossip.

The scribes were being criticised by Jesus. They lied and covered up the truth, pretending to be righteous. Politicians are treated as liars, even if they are not, especially by the victims in our society. My challenge is to find the truth and defend it.

I cannot, and will not, be ruled by victimhood, gossip and lies. I must submit myself to Christ. He must be Lord of all.

Jesus was asking very pointed questions about the Lodship of the Christ. He is more than a son, but rather God and I must elevate Him into that place, above all the words, works and pretences of man. Amen!
