Lord or Enemy?

The scribes and the chief priests desired and tried to find a way to arrest Jesus at that very hour, but they were afraid of the people; for they discerned that they had related this parable against them.mso they watched for an opportunity to snare Him, and sent spies who pretended to be upright, that they might lay hold of something He might say, so as to turn Him over to the control of the governor.
They asked Him, "Teacher, we know that You speak and teach what is right, and that You show no partiality to anyone but teach the way of God honestly and in truth.
Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar?" Luke 20:19-22

How disgusting for leaders to behave so underhandedly. They are lying, attempting to deceive the Son of God and the people they are accountable for. How caught up in their sin they are that they have no insight or understanding about their behaviour. They are acting like a gang of thugs instead of priests and leaders. We see the Maffia behave like this, where control is everything.

How much control are we willing to relinquish in our own lives? Are we willing to allow Jesus to be Lord? Or is all He gets lip service, as we see here?

Jesus must be Lord of all or He is not Lord at all!
