Please Release Me!

And He came out and went, as was His habit, to the mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed Him. And when He came to the place, He said to them. "Pray that. You may not all enter into temptation."
And He withdrew from them about a stone's throw and knelt down and prayed, saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will  but Your's be done." And there appeared to Him an angel from heaven, strengthening Him in spirit. And being in agony of mind He prayed all the more earnestly and intently, and His sweat became like great clots of blood dropping down upon the ground.
And when He got up from prayer, He came to His disciples and found them sleeping from grief.
And He said to them, "why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not enter temptation."
Luke 22:39-46

It is interesting that this is where Jesus went every night. Did He pray all night or was there accomodation near by?

It blesses me that even the Son of God beseeched His Father to be freed from the burden He was carrying, the horror of what was before Him was so great. Yet He was willing to submit to the Father's will. When we face the very hard task; are deserted by all who we thought were ours; when all we had is taken away from us; when we face a horrid health crisis, we have this passage to remind us, Jeus went through the fire, but He rose again in power and might.

Our Saviour has been there, we can trust Him to succour us in our time of need. We have the best advocate and standby. Amen!
