The Lamb

Who has believed what we have heard? And who has the arm of the Lord been revealed to? He grew up before Him like a young plant and like a root out of dry ground. He didn't have an impressive form of majesty that we should look at Him, no appearance that we should desire Him.
He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like someone people turned away from; He was despised and we didn't value Him. Isaiah 53:1-3

When we value a person, it usually because something in them appeals to us. Be it their manner, laughter and fun, integrity or they are good to be around. The people who really got to know Jesus were the disciples and closer still the apostles, yet one of the twelve betrayed Him. He did not value Jesus for the right reason, he valued Him for what he could get.

The people Jesus taught enjoyed listening to Him, but how many saw the true value in the teachings? The people Jesus healed valued what He did for them, but of the ten leppers, only one returned truly grateful.

Today we are faced with such a choice. Jesus is not cool, because He was pure, He did not use profanity, He did not get into drunken brawls and He is not a handsome star. Yet He is the eternal Son of God, the faithful, the true, the great I am, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the beginning and the end and so much more.

I had desired to know Him forever, since I was a small child, I am blessed. I finally found Him at 19 and have never let go that which I desired. I have found the pearl of great price and sold all for it. He is my treasure and I won't give Him up.

Today, I pray for you, dear reader, that you would desire Him, above all earthly pleasures and that your heart would beat with the rhythm of eternity. Amen!
