The Sacrifice
Yet He Himself bore our sicknesses, and He carried our pains; but we in turn regarded Him as stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was upon Him, and we are healed by His wounds.
We all went astray like sheep; we have all turned to our own way; and the Lord has punished Him for the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4-6
Jesus bore our iniquities; Him who knew no sin became sin for us. The sinless Christ experienced the cruching agony of all our iniquities, what a load! The price of us obtaining peace was His punishment. We cannot obtain true, everlasting peace through our own efforts. A change of circumstances might bring temporary relief, but everlasting peace comes through forgiveness and cleansing of all sin.
The effect of sin is sickness. We live in a world full of sin and sickness feeds on this sin. Smith Wigglesworth said, in his day, that sin opens the door to sickness. Jesu had not known sickness yet the above scripture says He was wounded so that we could be healed.
We pay a fee to go to the doctor, Jesus paid a hefty price so that we could be set free from disease.
In Jesus are all the answers, all the freedom, forgiveness and healing we need. Invite Him in, it will be the best, single thing you ever do. Amen!
