And Then God....

About this time King Herod cruelly attacked some who belonged to the Church, and he killed James, John's brother, with the sword. When he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter too, during the days of unleavened bread. After the arrest he put him in prison and assigned four squads of soldiers each to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after the Passover. So Peter was kept in prison, but prayer was being made earnestly to God for him by the church. On the night before Herod was to bring him out for execution, Peter, bound with two chains, was sleeping between two soldiers, while the sentries in front of the door guarded the prison. Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the cell. Striking Peter on the side, he woke him up and said, "Quick, get up!" Then the chains fell off his wrists. "Get dressed!" The Angel told him, "and put on your sandals." And he did so. "Wrap your cloak around you, " he told him, "and follow me." So he went out and followed, and he did not know that what took place through the Angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. After they passed the first and second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that lead into the city, which opened to them by itself. They went outside and passed one street, and immediately the Angel left him. The Peter came to himself and said, "Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His Angel and rescued me from Herod's grasp and from all the Jewish people expected."  Acts 12:1-11

Herod, a foolish man, operated in the flesh. He placed fours squares of guards to guard Peter. I wonder if he remember the last time Peter was in prison and escaped. A carnal mind would think he could foil such an attempt, but he was wrong.

Peter had learned to live in the peace of God, so different from before the crucifixion. He was asleep between two guards. I wonder if he remembered Jesus being asleep in the storm. The Angel had to strike him on the side to wake him and even then he was in a daze, not even aware that he was awake. If I have only just gone to sleep, I am like this, very hard to wake, and then awake, am in a daze.

When God shows up and demonstrates His power we can only wonder and be grateful. He did the same for me today. Well, not quite. I was not in jail and in threat for my life. However, He did the God thing. This morning I prayed for Him to surprise me and this evening when preparing dinner for a guest, whilst watching the Presence conference on-line, I also read my emails, multi-tasking. I had an email from a lender offering to pay me out. By this I mean give me a final commission instead of continuing to pay me trail indefinitely for business written in 2006.

This morning I met with my engineer who was helping me draw up my design for a rubbish collector. I asked how much to do the design and he said, $1,200-1,500 just for the drawings, then there is a prototype. I knew he was now talking serious money. I prayed, "Lord, if this is of You, please provide?" "I will bless you," came the reply. "Ok, I will trust you, came my reply."

This was my answer. Quick and to the point. My God loves to answer my prayer, I need to rest in that. Amen! I look forward to the next surprise.
