He's Back!

Then the high priest took action. He and all his colleagues, those who belong to the party of the Saducees, were filled with jealousy. So they arrested the apostles and put them in the city jail. But an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail during the night, brought them out, and said, "Go and stand in the temple complex, and tell the people all about this life. In obedience to this, they entered the temple complex at daybreak and began to teach. Acts 5:17-21

These men had the same problem with Jesus and they crucified Him hoping to quash the movement. However, they did not count the Holy Spirit as a allay to the early church. If it was indeed mere men then, hey, what was the problem. However, the Holy Spirit was moving and apprehending mere men and women to speak about Jesus and act on His behalf. Signs and wonders were being performed. How do you deal with that? This was way outside what they could do, all they knew was law, but here, the Spirit of God was moving in a new way.

Being able to walk with insight and acknowledge their hearts- that being jealous hearts- would have been good and then having the integrity to walk in truth would have been even better. Yet no such effort or desire was made. Instead the brutish nature took over, the desire to kill and destroy the new because it made them uncomfortable.

Daily we are faced with the new in God. What are we doing with it? Are we attempting to control it or are we allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, stepping in to the flow and being made new?

There is a fresh move of God afoot! He does all things new! Enjoy!
